The Centre for Health Policy at Imperial College London is seeking to appoint a Technical Analyst (Health Economist) to work as a member of the International Decision Support Initiative (iDSI) project team. The iDSI is an innovative global partnership of leading government institutes, universities, and think-tanks, working to support policymakers in priority-setting for Universal Health Coverage. The initiative brings together Imperial College London, Health Intervention and Technology Assessment Program (HITAP), the Center for Global Development (CGD) and Priority Cost Effective Lessons for Systems Strengthening South Africa (PRICELESS SA).
iDSI provides strategic and technical support to decision-makers around the world on: (a) developing the necessary structures and capacity for assessing and interpreting evidence to inform health policy, and (b) designing and using appropriate methods and processes to apply this capacity.
The post holder will be a key member of the iDSI project team and will be expected to work across iDSI supporting all members of the iDSI team. The post holder will be required to lead in the analysis, support, interpretation and publication of complex data relating to health system performance, economic evaluation methods, including budget impact analyses, and on communicating these results effectively to an international audience including foreign policy makers and global donors.
Applicants should hold a Masters degree or Doctorate in a subject or subjects related to evidence-based medicine (e.g. systematic reviewing, epidemiology, critical appraisal, public health, etc) or equivalent level of knowledge acquired through experience and further training/ development and have experience working in one of the following fields: Health economics, Medical statistics, Clinical trials, Public health and health policy, Epidemiology or systematic reviewing.
This is a full-time post for a fixed term of one-year in the first instance and will be based at St Mary’s Campus in Paddington.
