The Makespace Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the Makespace including the management of the workshop staff and facilitation of the membership community.
The post holder will be particular responsible for workshop health and safety, facilitating the membership community, managing the workshop budget, undertaking any purchasing required and general administration such as answering emails from the public and our members.
The successful candidate will work closely with the workshop technicians and the rest of our team in events and research to ensure the smooth running of our space and the delivery of our curate programme of activities.
We are looking for a self-motivated, resourceful, organised and proactive individual with experience in managing teams. You will be practical, approachable and have an encouraging attitude. Ideally, you will have a passion for materials and a knowledge of some making methods, tools and processes.
An approachable and positive attitude are essential and any successful candidate needs to be comfortable interacting with a wide range of people on a daily basis. You should have excellent interpersonal communication skills together with the ability to plan, prioritise and oversee the delivery of a wide range of activities within a making environment.
