We seek an academic member of staff to make a major contribution to the teaching of Forensic Science at the undergraduate level. A willingness to engage with students and manage their progress through their under graduate degree course is essential.

The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, committed to meeting the needs of a diverse student population. There is an expectation that the successful candidate will develop complementary research activities in alignment with existing School research expectations.

Candidates should be motivated towards teaching and learning and have some experience of teaching at undergraduate level. You will have a good Bachelor’s under graduate degree in a relevant analytical science (biological / chemical / materials) and a postgraduate qualification in an analytical or an investigative science and / or relevant Forensic Science experience.

Applications are also welcome from candidates with PhD’s in a core science or engineering discipline. You will have knowledge and skills, indicative of ability to teach in both specialist and generalist roles across the curriculum in Forensic Science and more broadly within the School of Applied Sciences. Experience or expertise in the teaching of some or all aspects of the crime scene to court process including the interpretation of trace evidence would be an advantage. A commitment to developing and to enhancing professional practice is required.
