The Careers Service provides a high quality careers and information service for students and recent graduates of City. Our aim is to support and develop our students by providing the tools they need to enhance their employability.

The Employer Engagement Team are looking to appoint an Employer Engagement Adviser to build and maintain relationships with recruiters and external stakeholders across a wide range of industry sectors, with a particular focus on Creative sectors, Social sciences, and Engineering.


The role holder will build and maintain relationships with small and medium sized London businesses as well as large national and international recruiters; helping with their recruitment needs and raising brand awareness on campus. They will input at all employer led events and contribute to the development and maintenance of an effective partnership formation. Further to this, they will work closely with the rest of the team to develop and deliver innovative initiatives to enrich the learning environment and prepare students for the world of work. There is opportunity to project manage and professional development.

Person Specification

The role holder will have relevant work experience in the higher education sector, commercial, recruitment or marketing field. They will be proactive and target driven with experience in project managing and marketing specific events or services to a varied audience. With strong communication skills, they should be confident at networking and establishing effective working relationships within and beyond City. Accurate record keeping and the production of quantitative and qualitative summaries for reports is key to this role, as is a proactive approach to identifying innovative best practices and taking lead on new initiatives.
