King’s is the largest centre for the education of doctors, dentists and other healthcare professionals in Europe.
The Dean of Medical Education is responsible for the GKT School of Medical Education, a thriving community of over 2,200 undergraduate students. Education and training is delivered through the Faculty of Life Sciences and Medicine and the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s Health Partners and NHS placements across South England. Reporting to the Executive Dean for Life Sciences and Medicine, the person appointed will project King’s reputation as an innovator and leader in the field of Medical Education and will widen interdisciplinary and pedagogic research across the partnerships.
The successful candidate will be an outstanding clinical academic, an inspiring leader with exceptional communication skills, be able to build across the university, NHS partners and global institutions. Senior level management experience in a large complex organisation will be matched by a sound understanding of the translational bridges between science, medicine and delivery of health care. An appropriate clinical contract can be negotiated, as required.
