Applications are invited for appointment as a Lecturer in Mathematics at NUI Galway for the period 1st September 2017 to 31st August 2019. The appointment will be made on the salary scale below the bar. 

The position is located within the School of Mathematics, Statistics and Applied Mathematics at NUI Galway. The successful applicant for the lectureship must have:

  • A PhD (or equivalent) in Mathematics.
  • An active research profile, as evidenced by recent research publications, in some area of algebra, geometry, topology or analysis.
  • The capacity to deliver high quality mathematics teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The duties of the successful candidate will be:

  • To teach and develop courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
  • To contribute to the research activity and output of the School.
  • To engage in activities related to the training of graduate research students.
  • To contribute to planning and management within the School and to outreach activities.

€37,230 to €57,782 p.a. (applicable to new entrants effective from January, 2011)           

(This appointment will be made on the Lecturer Fixed Term scale in line with current Government pay policy)
