Queen’s University Belfast is one of the leading universities in the UK, combining excellence in research and education with a student-centred ethos. As part of Vision 2020, the University is seeking to appoint a Head of School who will play a key role in delivering this strategy and supporting the Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (AHSS), Professor Adrienne Scullion.
Within the Faculty, three new Schools have been created:
- School of Arts, English and Languages
- School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy and Politics
- School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work
These form part of a new five School structure which will support the growth of high quality teaching programmes, research themes, and knowledge transfer initiatives that will cross School boundaries.
The Head of the new School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work will have an internationally recognised research background, with a track record of success in leading and delivering strategic objectives. The appointed candidate will provide academic leadership across the school, be results/outcome driven and have experience of leading change.
