Location: Forest Produce Ltd., Tralee, Co Kerry and local Teagasc Offices when the need arises. Travel around trial locations in the south of the country when required.
Grade/Salary: Technician Grade 1, with a starting salary of €27,220 per annum. The current salary scale is €27,220 to €37,373. Starting pay will be at the minimum of the scale per Government Circular E100/8/82. Exceptional circumstances may apply for candidates with current or previous service in the public sector (including Teagasc). Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government Policy.
Post Type: Temporary Externally Funded Non Grant-in-Aid contract post, the indicative duration of which is 33 months, subject to contract.
Basic Function: To provide technical support for the New Leaves research program.
Person Specification
Note: The ‘Essential’ qualifications, skills and knowledge outlined below are ‘must-have’ which will be used in the shortlisting process.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 6 QQI or equivalent qualification in horticulture or related discipline WITH MERIT OR DISTINCTION
Desirable Qualifications
- A relevant Level 7 qualification at Merit or Equivalent GPA
- 3 years’ work experience in hardy nursery stock
