This is a full-time, nine-month or semester faculty appointment
depending on the circumstances. Responsible for contributing significantly to Stephen F. Austin State University’s undergraduate and/or
graduate programs through teaching, scholarship/creative accomplishment, and service. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive
latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a security-sensitive position. Reports to the chair.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Performs an equivalent of eight teaching units of work during the regular academic
year; reduction of teaching load through reassignment of duties is possible under certain circumstances.
2. Engages in
research/scholarly/creative and service activities at levels that are appropriate to faculty rank and departmental tenure/merit criteria.
3. Provides services to the university and the profession.
4. May conduct supplemental instructional activities such as independent
studies, internships, advising, and thesis/dissertation supervision.
Non-Essential Job Functions:
receive course load reassignment when assigned administrative duties in support of the department/college/university.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and

accomplishments and service.
4. Ability to work within a collaborative faculty environment.
5. Ability to communicate effectively
in both oral and written form.
6. Ability to work effectively and patiently with students.
Terminal degree in the field in which the individual will be teaching is required. ABD candidates will be considered.
Experience and Training:
The rank of assistant professor is held by an individual who demonstrates the capability
to conduct research, commit to scholarly/creative service teach effectively, and provide service to the academic and general communities.
The visiting assistant professor may hold the rank of assistant professor at another institution.
Meet classes, hold office hours and be available for advising and other service obligations as needed or required.

Assistant/Associate Professor, Operations Management
Salary: Negotiable and commensurate with qualifications.
Department of Management, Marketing, and International Business in the Rusche College of Business at Stephen F. Austin State University is
seeking applicants to fill a full time tenure-track faculty position in operations management as a visiting assistant or associate professor
beginning August 2017 (fall semester). Teaching assignments will include undergraduate and graduate courses in a traditional classroom
format. Online teaching is highly desirable and opportunities exist to develop online courses. Successful applicants will be expected to
fully participate in academic advising and university service. Scholarly responsibilities include consistent maintenance of AACSB
Academically Qualified status through strong research.
1) have a
terminal degree in operations management or closely related field, preferably from an appropriately accredited institution and completed by
September 1, 2017;
2) be able to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in operations management; and
3) also teach one or more
of the courses from other management disciplines (MIS/HRM/Management).
Candidates for assistant professor should demonstrate
excellent teaching skills and strong potential for scholarly research.
Candidates for associate professor should demonstrate
excellent teaching skills and a record of scholarly research.
