The Department of Operations, Business Analytics, and Information Systems (OBAIS)
in the Carl H. Lindner College of Business at the University of Cincinnati invites applications for two full-time tenure-track
positions in Business Analytics/Operations Management, beginning August 2018. These positions are open rank (Assistant, Associate, or Full
Professor) and are commensurate with experience.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At time of interview, all
candidates must have completed, or be on track to complete, a doctoral degree in Operations Management, Industrial Engineering or a related
area, by August 31, 2018. Candidates will be expected to teach in all levels of doctoral, master’s, and undergraduate programs in the
area(s) of Business Analytics or Operations Management, and conduct related research consistent with the high standards of the Lindner
College of Business, as well as fulfill service obligations.
The Operations and Business Analytics faculty at UC engage in research
and teaching in a wide variety of application areas, including simulation, service and healthcare operations management, supply chain
management, operations research/management science, optimization, and statistics. Operations and Business Analytics faculty work closely
with the departmental Information Systems faculty as well as other faculty in the college and university. OBAIS faculty also work with the
UC Center for Business Analytics, which is a consortium of more than 20 member companies including Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, Fifth
Third Bank, GE Aviation, Kroger, P&G, Macy’s, US Bank and others, to promote collaboration between industry, faculty and students in the
area of analytics.
UC’s urban environment makes the Lindner College of Business an ideal setting in which to deliver academic
excellence with an emphasis on experiential learning in a multi-disciplinary environment, adding real-world value to students and the
communities they serve. In addition to its business analytics, operations, industrial management, and information systems undergraduates,
the OBAIS department has two acclaimed Master’s programs in Business Analytics and in Information Systems with about 200 students as well as
a thriving PhD program with a history of successful student placements in academia. Enrollment in these programs, and at the University of
Cincinnati has been increasing. UC is known for its research, educational excellence, innovative teaching, and real-world experience through
its 100+ year-old cooperative education program, the first in the nation.
