Long Island University (LIU), Brooklyn Campus invites applications for a full time, tenure track faculty
position in the Department of Social Work at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

LIU Brooklyn’s Department of
Social Work includes an undergraduate (BASW) social work program with approximately 80 declared majors, originally accredited by CSWE in
1999. The graduate (MSW) program, originally accredited by CSWE in 2003, is primarily an evening and weekend MSW program with approximately
170 MSW students. The MSW program prepares graduates for Advanced Generalist Practice, with concentrations in the following areas: Child and
Family Welfare, Forensic Social Work, Gerontology, Not-for-Profit Management, and, Substance Abuse. Although our MSW program is a
collaborative program in coordination with LIU’s Post Campus, this current faculty posting is specifically for a position located on the
Brooklyn Campus.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to teach across the curriculum in both our graduate and
undergraduate programs. Experience in teaching theories of human behavior in the social environment, practice, policy and/or research is
desired. The successful candidate will need to be able to work with individuals and communities of diverse ethnic, cultural and religious
backgrounds.

Requirements include a MSW degree from a CSWE accredited college/university with two years postgraduate practice
experience and a PhD/DSW in social work or a related field. Demonstrated teaching excellence at the college level and ability to conduct
research and publish are also required. Applicants with experience in positions of leadership, or an interest in developing academic
leadership potential, are encouraged to apply. Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
