Faculty Job in Academic & University Instructor of Social Work NOV #33-959
The Department of Psychology, Sociology and Social Work at West Texas A&M University (a member of the Texas A&M University System)
invites applicants for a 9 month position at the instructor level in Social Work, to begin September 1, 2017. Canyon is part of the
Amarillo, Texas MSA, and is located 15 miles south of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. The University provides a gateway to the rich
cultural heritage of the Southwest.
Responsibilities include teaching social work related courses at the undergraduate level
(teaching load is 5/5), research, service, and advising. The applicant will also participate in field-based programs and clinical programs
as deemed necessary by the social work program. This is a nine-month position. Summer teaching is a possibility.
Applicants must have a Masters in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited
program. Two years post-MSW experience is also required. Social Work licensure in Texas preferred, ability to be licensed within a year
would be required. Teaching and research potential needs to be substantial. The ability to teach in an online setting is also required.
