As a Instructor (Accounting)
GS-1701-11, your typical work assignments may include the following under supervision:
*Teach courses in Accounting; curriculum and
program development and/or revision including program review and the development and assessment of student outcomes for courses and
programs; working with community and campus organizations; participating in department, division and college committees; maintain currency
in the discipline and otherwise fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of instructional staff or faculty.
*Develop criteria for
testing, assignments, and other instruments to evaluate student proficiency as well as responsibility for developing, annually updating, and
maintaining course/program assessments.
*Develop student assignments, schedules, selects appropriate methods of instruction and
determines assessment and evaluation criteria.
*Maintain statistical records/data of student proficiency and attendance and other records
consistent with course objectives and college policies.
*Conduct classroom activities which include lectures, audio visual materials,
field trips, group discussion, laboratories, and other educational practices for the classroom.
*Develop lesson plans and other guides
required to meet the goal of training student and leading them in their field of academic study.
*Represent SIPI at professional
conferences, workshops and seminars; maintains professional contact with industry and government or with colleges and universities in the
state and nation.
*Serve as faculty advisor and mentor for students.

FORMER FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Former Federal Employees are required to indicate whether they received a Voluntary Separation Incentive Payment (VSIP) buyout in their previous employment with the Federal government, and are required to submit a copy of the applicable Notification of Personnel Action (SF-50) regarding the VSIP. The majority of individuals, who accept reemployment with the Federal government within 5 years of receiving the VSIP amount, must repay that gross amount of the separation pay prior to reemployment.
