Summary

The Department of Marketing & Business Law in the Villanova School of Business (VSB) at
Villanova University invites applications for the position of Department Chair and Associate Professor, to start Fall 2018. A Ph.D./D.B.A.
in marketing or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution is required. For appointment at
the rank of tenured associate professor, a candidate must demonstrate a history of excellence in the classroom, research, and service and
meet Villanova’s requirements for tenure. Villanova offers competitive compensation and teaching loads, commensurate with performance and
appointment.

One of five departments in VSB, the Marketing & Business Law currently includes 13
tenured/tenure-track and two continuing non-tenured track faculty. In 2016, the department enrolled approximately 250 undergraduate majors,
and 75 undergraduate minors. VSB has around 600 students enrolled in its various MBA

Duties and Responsibilities
In addition to
undergraduate and graduate teaching, the Department Chair provides academic and strategic leadership for a dynamic, diverse and productive
faculty; recruits students, faculty and employers; and manages departmental resources, including financial and personnel.

Additionally, this individual is expected to provide service activities to the college and university, in a way that fosters connections
across the discipline and within the Villanova community.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Terminal degree in marketing or closely related
    discipline.
  • Eligibility for tenure and appointment at the associate professor rank.
  • Demonstrated teaching
    excellence.
  • Demonstrated record of high-quality academic publication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Administrative experience and/or demonstrated leadership capacity with the ability to interact with multiple stakeholders of the
    department, college and Villanova University.
  • Strong desire to teach marketing analytics, which has been taught in the
    department for over five years and is also a co-major at VSB.
