An open-rank tenure-track position in the School of Business Administration is available starting mid
August
2018.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. / D.B.A. in Business, Economics, Data Science,
    Statistics or a related field. Candidates who are ABD with promise of degree completion within one academic year will be considered.
  • Ability and interest in teaching in multiple quantitative areas of the business program including data analytics, statistics
    and operations management 

Preferred Qualification:

  • Ability to teach applied quantitative courses
    that employ R, Tableau, @risk or other modern analytical tools
  • Ability to develop and teach courses in data
    visualization, predictive analytics or optimization
  • Ph.D./D.B.A from an AACSB accredited business school
  • Demonstrated teaching excellence
  • Demonstrated record of scholarship

Responsibilities:
Teaching at the undergraduate level with a standard teaching load of 24 credits per year of which three may be authorized for research
release. Student mentoring is required. Fort Lewis College has professional success coaches who perform student advising activities. The
School of Business Administration is committed to developing forward thinking and innovative curricula. Successful applicants will be
expected to engage in service activities such as student clubs, college committees, etc. and maintain an active research stream.

Salary:
School of Business Administration salary and benefits are competitive with AACSB accredited schools of
similar size.

School Description:
Fort Lewis College is a state-supported liberal arts college with its
own governing board and is a member of the Council of Public Liberal Arts Colleges (COPLAC). Total enrollment at the College is about 3,800
students (24% are Native American and 11% Hispanic).

The School of Business Administration offers four distinct majors:
Accounting, Business Administration, Economics and Marketing. The courses taught by this position are taken by students from each
discipline. The School of Business Administration has been AACSB International accredited since 1974. The School has 20 full time and seven
part-time faculty members.

Area:
Durango is a multicultural community, located in a beautiful mountain
valley with nearby peaks reaching 14,000+ feet. A mild four-season climate allows numerous opportunities for skiing, fishing, biking,
golfing, etc. With an area population of 50,000, Durango is cosmopolitan for its size and is served by major airlines with direct
connections to Denver, Dallas and Phoenix.
