The Department of Communication, Media, and Theatre at Northeastern Illinois
University invites applicants to apply for a tenure-track assistant professor position in Communication to begin Fall 2019.
Successful candidates will be expected to teach introductory Communication courses as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in their
area of specialization. Candidates will serve on graduate committees, supervise theses and independent studies, develop new courses and
curriculum in an area of specialty, maintain productive research activity, and perform service at the department and university level.
Experience with hybrid and online teaching is preferred. In particular, we are looking for a candidate with expertise in one or more of the
following areas: organizational, leadership, business, intercultural, conflict, or urban communication.
will contribute to University efforts to address student enrollment, retention and success, including an overall commitment to teaching at
both the upper division and introductory level, as well as provide support for requirements such as First Year Experience, University Core
Curriculum and the Writing Intensive Program.
Candidates must have their Ph.D. in Communication by July 1, 2019. Please visit our
