Position Summary or Faculty Qualifications
Saint Joseph’s University’s Department of Biology has an ongoing need for
highly qualified adjunct faculty to staff a variety of courses each semester. Professionals with experience and a passion for teaching at
the undergraduate level will be given preference. Part-time adjunct faculty may instruct 1 or 2 courses each semester on an “as needed”
basis. Courses available for adjunct staffing are offered during the day and also in the evening.
Courses available for adjunct
staffing may include:
1. Exploring the Earth
2. The Environment
1. Lab sections for non-science major course Exploring the Earth.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teaching of a specified course
- Preparation of materials
support and guidance to students
- Reporting grades
Master’s Degree in an area
of Biology, Environmental Science or closely related major.
or PhD in an area of Biology or Environmental Science. Previous teaching experience. Willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.
Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours:
May require standing for long periods of time, talking for long periods
of time and carrying course materials.
