Job Description Summary:

Provides administrative leadership and creates and coordinates a system of programs and
services designed to support student success and retention. Works collaboratively with the President to ensure effective campus
services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Works collaboratively with the President to ensure
    effective campus services are provided to the administrators and managers of the Advising and Counseling Center, Testing Center, Student
    Development Services/Student Activities, Health Services, Career and Employment Services, Transfer Center, Disability Support Services,
    Student Support, Orientation and Special Services
  • Organizes, directs, and coordinates activities related to Advising and Counseling
    Center, recruitment and retention, learning communities, academic readiness testing and placement
  • Oversees campus events for
    students, student activities, orientation and new student programs, career and employment services, and works collaboratively with PHED to support campus intramural sports
  • Oversees student health services and programs for students with
    disabilities to support instructional programs and student development programs to promote student success
  • In collaboration with
    academic colleagues, organizes, supervises and coordinates tutorial services, labs, learning communities and other support services to
    encourage student academic success and retention
  • Collaborates with campus Registrar to help facilitate functions of the campus
    registration process
  • Coordinates campus activities related to recruitment and retention of students in collaboration with district
    College Access & Community Outreach department on campus recruitment/retention programs
  • Works with district personnel and high
    school administrators to facilitate the program of dual enrollment
  • Supports district initiatives designed to track student cohorts
    in both short-term and longitudinal studies of academic progress, including developmental programs
  • Develops strategic plans and
    corresponding budgets for the areas supervised including counseling, advising, testing, disability support services, career and employment
    services, student development services, and other campus units
  • Coordinates the evaluation of the administrative student development
    areas. Supervises administration of student surveys and disseminates data results as well as interprets them to campus faculty and
    staff
  • Collaborates with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success in the preparation of the Student Handbook; assists with
    editing, authoring and contributing
  • Enforces campus student discipline as outlined in the Student Handbook and makes recommendations
    to the president regarding student violations of the College Regulations
  • Investigates and oversees the student appeals process
    related to student complaints of the areas/employees supervised
  • Works with the Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Success to
    collaborate with all campus Vice Presidents for Student Development Services on district student development issues
  • Also serves as
    lead VP to District SDS Council/and serves on District committees
  • Collaborates with Campus President to
    assess and recommend appropriate staffing and budget plans to ensure excellence and consistency of service among the
    campuses
  • Assists with community engagement for high schools, school districts, community events, etc.
  • Provides leadership
    with assessment testing and Texas Success Initiative compliance.
  • Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and
    follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite Completes all required training and professional development sessions
    sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
  • Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching
    excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate
    degree
  • Administrative experience in multiple areas of Student Services
  • Developmental/remedial education, counseling, student
    services and learning resources
