Seven (7) years of senior level fundraising experience in university advancement and/or development with a successful record of
accomplishment in direct solicitation, prospect management, annual giving, major and planning giving management and leading capital

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Demonstrated understanding of a comprehensive advancement
program. Demonstrated knowledge and ability to lead and manage annual giving programs, planned giving programs, corporate and foundation
outreach programs and major gift fundraising. Must have a proven track record of successfully closing on major gifts.

Exceptional communication skills and an ability to work collaboratively with other leaders of the university to establish an inclusive
vision and plan. Skills and ability to hire, train, supervise and inspire professional advancement staff. Demonstrated ability to
incorporate data-driven decision making into planning and execution of programs and activities. Understanding of land-grant universities, as
well as the ability to absorb and partner with the unique culture of an institution, its surrounding community and supporters.

The Vice President for Development will have an opportunity to build a program with the full support and investment of
the University and also work alongside committed volunteer leaders. This position serves as the University’s senior development officer by
providing strategic development and operational leadership for the Office of Development & Institutional Advancement which includes
planned giving, major gift procurement, comprehensive and capital campaigns and corporate and foundation relations. Additionally, this
position is the major gifts fundraiser on behalf of the University and serves as the lead strategist for soliciting gifts and donations;
oversees all fundraising staff; coordinates with the President, Deans and the PVAM Foundation; oversees work with
alumni, donors, corporations and foundations; and functions as the chief spokesperson for all matters related to the University’s
fundraising efforts. This position serves on the President’s Cabinet.

The successful candidate will be expected to establish a vision
and plan for advancement activities and programs across the university through collaboration with the President, Provost, Vice Presidents
and Deans to coordinate and prioritize university advancement goals. Additionally, this position will be the driving force in strategic and
operational leadership in advancing university’s mission through the attainment of development goals; the design and execution of a
comprehensive institutional advancement plan that generates income from individuals, foundations and corporations. Candidates for this
position must have the acumen to develop and establish philanthropic relations with alumni, college deans, athletics, development officers,
department heads, faculty, staff and students. Candidates must also have a strong vision and remain actively engaged in leading staff and
volunteering to institutionalize philanthropy and fund development within the organization while promoting accountability and ensuring a
high level of compliance standards and the effective stewardship of funds.
