Houghton Fire Hall.

Today, Michigan Tech is a public research university that is home to more than 7,000 students from 60
countries around the world. Michigan Tech’s rising national profile is highlighted by its $72.5 million in research expenditures, an
exceptional track record in commercialization produced by distinguished faculty, and 19 major research centers where students can invent,

recognized Michigan Tech’s commitment to a high-quality and affordable education by ranking the University 18th in the country for return on
investment. U.S. News & World Report ranks Michigan Tech 118th in the National Universities category and 56th in the Public Universities
