Reporting to the Vice President for University Advancement, and a member of the University Advancement Leadership
team, the Executive Director of Advancement Relations and Annual Fund will engage Bentley’s 55,000+ alumni in meaningful ways and promote
philanthropic support of Bentley at the Annual Fund level.

Essential Functions

  • Oversee the Annual Giving
    department and the Center for Alumni Parents and Friends, leading strategic planning, developing goals and objectives, providing management
    oversight, and acting as a liaison with other university divisions on matters of constituent engagement.
  • Develop and achieve annual
    fund and engagement goals and metrics, provide strategic direction and program oversight to these two departments.
  • Work closely
    with the Executive Director of Development to ensure that programs of engagement and fund-raising are strategically aligned and provide
    opportunities for a deeper level of engagement for alumni, parents, students and friends of the university, resulting in a robust pipeline
    of prospects with increasing levels of philanthropic support.
  • Maintain a strategic partnership with the Global Alumni Board,
    supporting them as an accurate reflection and representation of the university’s alumni population. Provide strategic connection to the
    university and assist with the identification and recruitment of board membership.
  • Maintain a strategic partnership with the
    Bentley Executive Club, providing staff support and acting as liaison between the organization and the university.
  • Work closely
    with the Executive Director of Advancement Communications to develop strategic and regular communication with alumni via direct contact,
    email blasts, web pages, print publications and social media.
  • Oversee the management of signature events including Homecoming,
    Parents Weekend, and Reunion Weekend as the lead department. Partner with other divisions on campus wide events to provide alumni/parent
    constituent perspective and volunteers as needed.

Minimum Qualifications (Education and Experience Requirements)

Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of
experience managing engagement and annual giving programs, preferably in a higher education setting. Demonstrated success in managing a
multi-channel annual giving program preferred. Must be able to strongly articulate the connections between engagement and philanthropy in
this fast changing environment for engagement and solicitation communication. Demonstrated management and leadership experience in a complex
organization is essential. Strong interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ability to
work well under stress in a deadline-driven environment required. Familiarity and a comfort level with technology and Development/ CRM
operating systems are essential. A high level of diplomacy, tact and confidentially are a must

Physical Demands

Usual office environment with frequent sitting, walking, and standing, and occasional climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling,
and balancing. Frequent use of eye, hand and finger coordination enabling the use of office machinery. Oral and auditory capacity enabling
interpersonal communication as well as communication through automated devices such as the telephone.
