Job Description
The Dean serves as the visionary leader for teaching/learning processes and instructional services
in all departments or programs assigned to the Mathematics and Sciences Divisions. An effective Dean strategically improves the quality of
the institution, protects the long-term health of the organization, promotes the success of all students, and sustains the community college
mission, based on knowledge of the organization, its environment, and future trends. The position requires an individual who embraces the
spirit of collegiality and collaboration, is self-motivated, energetic, and creative, and possesses proven leadership, management, and
communication skills. The Dean will develop collaborative relationships with industry and education partners as well as grant-funding
agencies to meet instructional needs.

Required Skills

  • Earned Doctorate or Master’s degree with relevant experience
  • Minimum of five years
    successful senior level administrative and leadership experience in Sciences and Mathematics, non-profit organization, government or
    education
  • Minimum of three years of college teaching experience

Preferred:

  • Earned Doctorate
    Degree
  • Administrative and/or leadership experience in a post-secondary academic environment
  • College teaching experience in
    one of the departments supervised. These include Mathematics, Physical Science, Physics, Geosciences, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology,
    horticulture, or Sustainable Agriculture

Required Experience

  • Minimum of five years successful senior
    level administrative and leadership experience in Sciences and Mathematics, non-profit organization, government or education
  • Minimum of three years of college teaching experience
