The College of Humanities, Fine Arts, and Communications includes the departments of Art and
Graphic Design, Communications, English Studies and World Languages, History, Music, Philosophy, Theatre, and Theology. The College includes
approximately 350 undergraduate majors, a significant number of general education requirements, and 50 faculty FTE. The College houses the
Arts and Ideas program, the Brent and Jean Wadsworth Art Gallery, the History Center, Jet Fuel Review literary journal, Andrew Center of
Electronic Media, campus radio and television stations, and the Philip Lynch Theatre. Lewis University’s close proximity to Chicago offers

The Dean is the chief academic officer of the
College. The Dean reports to the Provost and is a member of several university-wide committees. The Dean supervises all faculty in the
College as well as chairs and program directors, assistant and associate deans, and administrative assistants.
include: a terminal degree in one of the fields or disciplines represented in the College; a record of scholarship, service and teaching in
alignment with the qualifications for the title of Professor at Lewis University; at least five years of demonstrated administrative
competence in an academic setting, ideally as a chair and/or assistant or associate dean; excellent communication skills; ability to develop
a collaborative vision for the College; and demonstrated success in external relations.
