The University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Education invites applications for the position of Associate
Dean for Student Affairs. The Associate Dean for Student Affairs is responsible for the administration and operation of the Office of
Student Services in the College of Education and for providing leadership in matters related to the life cycle and development of students
in the college. The office includes a highly experienced staff of advisors, a data/technology associate, marketing and communications staff,
and student employees. The office is responsible for all aspects of student services, including enrollment management, recruitment and
retention, admissions, registration, undergraduate and graduate student advising (in collaboration with faculty and departments), financial
aid, orientation programs, first-year courses for freshman and transfer students, degree certification, and college commencement ceremonies.
This is an exciting time in the College of Education. We are expanding programs and increasing enrollments and we are looking for a dynamic
and visionary associate dean to become part of the college.
- A Ph.D. or Ed.D
in higher education or related field
- A strong record of increasingly responsible leadership in student services, including
supervisory and management experience
- Demonstrated leadership skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to work collaboratively
with staff in the office and across the college and university
- Experience working in a diverse higher education environment and a
commitment to a culture of inclusion and diversity
- Ability to deal sensitively with confidential information and ensure that the
office maintains a high degree of professionalism and discretion
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of
databases, Microsoft Office Suite, Web and social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter)
