The University of North Georgia is currently accepting applications for a PCE Program Development
Specialist. The PCE Program Development Specialist’s primary function is to identify and develop cost-effective open enrollment and/or
customized training solutions in the fields of Healthcare, Leadership & Supervision, Computer Software Training, Photography and other
professional and personal development areas. The Program Development Specialist serves as a liaison to the community, business and industry
by promoting strategic partnerships or alliances, communicating client needs, promoting and piloting new training programs, forecasting
trends, and brokering appropriate training resources to satisfy an educational/training opportunity. This position will seek out new
business and industry relationships in order to establish workforce development solutions for the North Georgia region. The Program
Development Specialist will also coordinate all facility rentals for the Cumming City Hall and Cumming Campus. A commitment to a team
approach by working cooperatively with clients and others within the department and university and meeting established deadlines is
essential. Some evening work may be required. This position will be based at the Cumming City Hall location. Some travel between campuses
will be required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
The Program Development Specialist will:
conjunction with the Associate Director, work closely with clients in determining education needs and designing instructional contract
- Research, plan, develop and promote Professional and Continuing Education open enrollment classes/programs
to respond to emerging trends in lifelong learning.
- Develop new certificate programs to meet the workforce development needs of the
- Work to establish new business and industry relationships in the Cumming region.
- Develop and Provide
outcome/impact assessments and methodologies to ensure quality programming.
- Coordinate with external constituents the use of
Cumming City Hall and the Cumming Campus for facility rentals.
- Develop and maintain contact with individuals and groups within the
region to foster collaboration between the university and the community.
- Identify and select appropriate resources (both
human and material) for implementing programs.
- Work closely with marketing specialist to promote classes.
- Create and
maintain appropriate documentation, records and reports.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
position requires a basic understanding of the Professional and Continuing Education mission of the institution and the ability to work well
with community members, government agencies, regular and contracted faculty, academic departments, and administrative offices.
- The ability to handle changing priorities and meet deadlines as well as a commitment to a team approach by working cooperatively with
clients and others within the department and university is required.
- The position requires excellent customer service skills,
excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills as well as written and verbal communication skills / Intermediate computer skills.
ability to organize and prioritize workload and multi-task with little supervision in an ever changing, fast-paced, multiple priority
setting as well as the ability to form relationships with corporate and community clients is required.
Certifications/Licenses & Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred
years related work experience, preferably in Sales, Business or Marketing.
- Prior work in a continuing education, community
education, or adult learning environment is preferred.
