Job Summary/Responsibilities: The Coordinator for Research Integrity is responsible for the facilitation of regulatory
compliance and assurance efforts associated with research activities at the University. The Coordinator provides administrative assistance
to the Institutional Review Board for the Protection of Human Subjects (IRB), the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), the
Institutional Biosafety Committee (IBC), and other regulatory compliance committees as needed. The Coordinator, in collaboration with the
Assistant Director for Research Integrity, monitors federal, state, and University regulatory compliance policies and procedures. The
incumbent processes protocol submissions and assists in implementing the University’s program for educating committee members, faculty,
staff, and students regarding compliance regulations and requirements for responsible conduct research at the University.

The
incumbent must ensure IRB, IACUC, and IBC records are maintained appropriately and confidentially and make records accessible, upon request,
to authorized Federal officials. The Coordinator is also responsible for managing content of research integrity web pages and a
comprehensive database of protocols and their on-going disposition. The Coordinator will track the University’s compliance with other
regulations to enable the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs to meet its responsibility for certifications, record and generate
meeting minutes, and complete other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications: A Master’s degree from a regionally
accredited college or university in a directly related area of specialization; or a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college
or university and two years of experience directly related to the job functions.

Directly related experience may include, but is
not limited to:

  • Administrative or compliance related experience in an academic, research, regulatory, private industry or medical
    environment
  • Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, effective communication orally and in writing.
  • Time
    budgeting, problem solving, and proficiency in use of computers and related office software.
  • Ability to establish rapport with
    faculty, staff, and students and maintain collaborative working relationships across the full range of academic departments.
  • Practical knowledge of and experience with compliance issues involving human subjects (IRB), knowledge and understanding of
    federal/state regulations governing the use of those subjects in research and other regulatory compliance issues affecting sponsored
    programs (i.e. IACUC & IBC).

Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience working with compliance boards.
In depth familiarity of administrative use of IRBNet. Certified IRB Professional (CIP).
