The Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is
seeking a Coordinator, Business Advancement Activities to plan coordinate, promote, and staff various donor, alumni, and student-related
events and programs.

  • Develop and implement programs and opportunities that connect domestic and international alumni back to the College and Campus in
    support of the strategic goals of the College of Business
  • Coordinate complex activities and programming that enhance the donor and
    alumni engagement focused efforts of the College of Business Advancement Office
  • Manage scheduling, project planning timelines, and
    communications related to planned activities
  • Collaborate with the advancement team to develop relevant and effective marketing
    related to planned activities and provide input and ideas for electronic communications, website content and other on-going communications
    with alumni and students, and other constituencies and stakeholders
  • Plan special events, including regional visits by the college
    administration, alumni activities on campus, and events throughout the state and country
  • Assist in planning, organization, and
    staffing of large-scale college-wide activities
  • Coordinate with the Director of Events and Executive Education to enhance existing
    alumni and student outreach efforts of the Office of Advancement
  • Provide direction of civil service staff related to bill
    processing, reporting, and budgeting
  • Explore opportunities to utilize digital space in order to reach a broader audience
  • Measure programming impact in support of alumni engagement metrics
  • Duties require some travel
  • Other related duties as
    assigned to further the mission of the unit


Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience in event planning or related field. The successful
candidate must have strong project management skills and experience with excel and social media. Must have relevant experience initiating
communication both internally and externally at all levels of an organization. Must be well organized to manage workflow, develop production
schedules and meet deadlines. Must enjoy a work environment that is fast-paced and projects that cover a wide-range of ever-evolving topics.
Must exhibit a spirit of collaboration and enthusiasm.

Experience in College of Business with alumni engagement, in CRM use, and with
online event management systems is preferred.

This is a full-time (100%), benefits-eligible academic professional position appointed
on a 12-month basis. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The expected start date is as soon as possible after the
