National Robotics Engineering Center (NREC) is recruiting a Associate Director of Business Development to expand its presence in commercial
and government markets. The NREC, a leader in robotics technology development and commercialization, serves as the technology transfer arm
for the world-renowned Robotics Institute.

The Associate Director of Business Development is responsible for establishing new account
relationships and closing new project business. This individual must rapidly identify and qualify project opportunities across broad market
areas and within large commercial and government accounts. He/she will work closely with robotics researchers, engineering staff and
contracts personnel to define customer needs, advocate a solution, and support contract negotiation. This individual will also identify
organizations interested in licensing NREC s technology. This individual should possess the ability to analyze market trends to proactively
identify organizations that can be served with NREC technology and capabilities. He/she should be a strong contributor to NREC s marketing
communication efforts.

  • Five years of successful business development
    experience for an engineering, R&D, or technology services firm.
  • Must have track record of capturing >$500K projects.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage complex sales process to closure.
  • Proven ability to profile and qualify large companies and
    government agencies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team player.
  • Learns customer and market
    needs quickly.
  • Learns emerging technologies quickly.
  • Strategic planning ability.
  • Good proposal writer.
  • Ability to close attention to detail, meet inflexible deadlines, remain calm during difficult situations, work under pressure and work
    with frequent interruptions.
  • Weekend and evening hours may be required. 25-50% travel required.
  • Understand university
    licensing methods.
  • Can understand the needs of potential sponsors and propose NREC s technology to meet the needs.
  • Can
    develop and implement technology commercialization approaches and strategies.
  • Excellent analysis skills that help target all NREC
    business development activities to high potential markets and applications.
