Assistant Equipment Manager

Job Summary:

The Assistant Equipment Manager reports directly to the Equipment Manager. The Assistant Equipment Manager
will be a member of the University of San Francisco Athletic Department and will assist in the procurement and inventory management of
necessary equipment for fourteen Division 1 athletic teams, serve as equipment liaison for assigned coaching staffs, manage a staff of
student workers in laundry operations and game day equipment preparation services, and provide organizational and administrative support to
the Equipment Manager as necessary. The Assistant Equipment Manager will work in coordination with the Equipment Manager to ensure seamless
operation of all core objectives of the USF Equipment Room.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Summary of essential job functions
  • Ensure accurate completion of each step of
    the procurement cycle, working directly with Coaching staffs to generate Requests for Orders of equipment.
  • Monitor cleanliness of
    team locker rooms according to policy guidelines and managing student workers in daily cleaning of these spaces.
  • Manage database of
    inventory information, including up to date shipping information for all purchased items, master product list and warehouse reports.
  • Liaise with Coaching Staffs to create a package of services for Game Day Preparation of necessary Equipment, and monitor this service
    throughout the year.
  • Assist in equipment fitting programs to ensure student athlete safety
  • Manage a staff of student
    workers (approximately 6 student staff) in their completion of necessary organizational tasks in equipment room, team locker rooms,
    inventory receiving areas and laundry room.
  • Manage frequent inventory hand counts to be reconciled against distribution lists,
    reporting all discrepancies to the Head Equipment manager.
  • Monitor a security log of entrance in to Equipment Room cages throughout
    the week.
  • Serve as primary contact and equipment representative for assigned Division 1 NCAA teams, as
    determined by head equipment manager, working with Coaching staffs directly to resolve any challenges in equipment needs.
  • Other
    duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree required. Masters preferred.
At least 1 year of experience in intercollegiate athletics. Comparable experience will be considered. Excellent interpersonal,
communication, and written skills. Knowledge of the mission and goals of the Athletic Department and the University of San Francisco.
Thorough knowledge of NCAA and WCC rules and regulations and that application of those
to all situations. Ability to assist and supervise staff in situations that may involve rules violations.
