Position
Summary:
Southern Illinois University Carbondale Office of Undergraduate Admissions is currently searching for two Admissions
Coordinators to join our Saluki Family. The Admissions Coordinator is responsible for managing a recruitment territory that includes the
Houston metro area, Southeast TX, Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, San Antonio and East Texas. This position assists prospective undergraduate
students through the enrollment process. Excellent benefits package which also includes tuition waiver.

Duties and
Responsibilities: 

The Admissions Coordinator reports to the Director of Admissions and will be a member of the
recruitment team comprised of enthusiastic individuals who support recruitment of undergraduate students to SIU Carbondale. This position
will travel widely during the fall and spring semesters to promote SIU Carbondale at high school and/or college visits, college fairs and
other community events. Extended hours are a regular part of this position. This position will communicate with prospective students in
person, through email, social media and over the phone using numerous calling campaigns spanning the entire recruitment cycle.

Short
and long-range planning is a critical part of this position. This position must form and maintain a partnership with community colleges and
independent schools in the territory. Employees must work independently and adhere to all university and unit policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will be a strong contributing member of the enrollment management team and will understand and operate within the
context of the team’s broader vision and goals. We need a self-starter who has experience working with diverse individuals, posses the
ability to handle multiple tasks and has excellent time management skills.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s
Degree, six months of public speaking experience as indicated by campus tour leadership, classroom leadership, sales presentations or other
types of presentations. Valid driver’s license is required.

This is a security sensitive position. Before any offer of
employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications: Strong sales experience; strong recruitment experiences; undergraduate experience in
organizations or activities); Strong understanding of the Texas recruitment market; strong writing skills as indicated in the cover letter
and resume; 3 or more years of experience managing a recruitment or sales territory or working with prospective student populations at the
high school, community college or university level; demonstrated professional experience working with diverse groups; and knowledge of
related computing programs, such as Banner or another student information system, CRM technology.
