Support staff for academic advising office in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace
Provide excellent customer service to students, faculty, and guests by
handling inquiries by telephone, email, and office walk-ins. Schedule advising appointments for students with faculty advisors. Support
faculty advisors by providing quality assistance for all academic advising needs of students. Coordinate new student orientations. Maintain
all student records from entrance to UTA until graduation including official and confidential matters. Prepare
graduation paperwork. Maintain statistics of course enrollment by term, change of major degree plans, and graduation term. Provide reports
as requested. Assist other department staff as needed, including but not limited to department wide events, purchasing, and textbook
inventory. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree in related field. One
to four years experience working with college students or adolescents in an academic counseling capacity or the equivalent experience.
Experience using MyMav (PeopleSoft) or similar database system. Proficient with MS
Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Ability to multitask, set priorities, and work with minimal supervision to accomplish tasks in a timely
manner. Customer service focused with an approachable and cooperative attitude at all times. Excellent communication skills.
