Are you a leader in public health research? Are you interested in tackling key questions and generating evidence to inform local and national policy and practice at population level? If yes, this is an exciting opportunity to join the multi-disciplinary Research and Evaluation Division, within the newly formed Knowledge Directorate of Public Health Wales.
As the Senior Research & Impact Lead, you will lead the development of a Population Health and Society research programme. You will hold a broad remit including developing and leading research programmes exploring the associations between health and wider societal factors, both to support evaluations of innovative Public Health Wales programmes and addressing gaps in our knowledge to inform whole system change to improve population health. You will identify and draw on health and non-health data assets across Wales, and further afield, building strategic links with key partners to deliver highly impactful programmes aligned to Public Health Wales Strategic Priorities and the wider policy landscape in Wales. You will build on your record of attracting, managing and delivering grant funding and experience of establishing and leading your own research or grant funded programmes in public health.
You will have exceptional quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, as well as proven leadership qualities to manage a multi-disciplinary team and build effective relationships with a broad range of stakeholders. In this role, you will have opportunities to take a lead in developing and managing your own specialist research and evaluation projects at international and national levels whilst working alongside academics, public health practitioners, policy makers and staff across Public Health Wales to help generate knowledge and evidence for action and influence partners on key public health topics.
