We are beginning a new phase in the development and delivery of Public Health. Public Health Wales is the National Public Health Institute for Wales. It has recently launched it new long-term strategy (from 2018 to 2030) for protecting and improving public health in Wales and contributing to health on a global basis. A key development in this process has been the establishment of our Policy and International teams as a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre on Investment in Health and Well-being. This is the first WHO CC in this area of expertise in the world. The Policy and International Directorate encompasses a team covering international relationships and collaborative work, public health policy support at local, national and international levels, economic analyses, sustainability and other work examining immediate and long-term strategic aspects of public health.
We are now seeking a Senior Public Health Specialist who will support and work alongside the Director and play a pivotal role in delivering an effective, agile and high impact public health think tank function for Wales and beyond. As well as supporting work in public health policy, you will act as the research coordinator for the Directorate and lead on the communication and impact maximisation the work of the Directorate. Consultants in public health are welcome to apply but a Public Health Consultant level qualification is not essential.
