Free open Job in Wales Programme Director Continuing Professional Development at Cardiff University

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences (BLS) in providing professional, academic leadership to the CPD strategy and scoping exercise aiming to enhance our provision, standardise our approach and reduce replication in module delivery.  The successful candidate will become a senior academic, in Cardiff University’s College of BLS, providing leadership and support, working closely with staff, students and external stakeholders to do so.

The role is to lead on high quality, research informed CPD teaching activity (and related activities), focusing on the development, delivery and evaluation of the CPD portfolio across the College and project managing the scoping exercise. They will support and lead programme teams in delivering CPD modules, teaching, learning, assessment and feedback.

The post holder will also contribute to scholarship and research in the area of Higher Education through participation in conferences, seminars and other academic and professional forums to disseminate the results of individual scholarship. 

Applicants should also have excellent communication and IT skills, to include the ability to present complex and conceptual basic science topics clearly and confidently to others, using high-level skills and a range of media (please see the job description for full information).

Applicants should be a qualified health professional and hold the minimum of a post graduate qualification at level 7 (or equivalent) in a healthcare related subject or related experience. They should have experience in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate level.  Experience of such teaching in an on-line environment would be an advantage. 

This is a fixed term appointment for 18 months, as the resultant activity from the scoping exercise will define future roles. Both applications and secondments will be considered.

This post is part time, 21 hours per week, fixed-term until 30 March 2020 and available from 1 October 2018.

Salary: £50,132 – £58,089 per annum, pro-rata for hours worked (Grade 8).
