Bangor University School of Health Sciences is offering an exciting opportunity for aspiring or experienced Lecturers to join our team. We can offer a stimulating environment and support to enable you to fulfil your professional ambitions.
As part of our current ambitions and growth, we would like to recruit to a new Lectureship in Healthcare Sciences (Clinical Sciences Non-Medical Prescribing). All candidates should have current registration with either the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) or General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) and a Postgraduate degree in a relevant subject area.
The ability to communicate in Welsh is desirable for this post, and the School would particularly welcome applications from Welsh speakers.
This post provides an opportunity for both experienced candidates, and those with less experience who may benefit from a ‘First into Teaching’ programme of development. We are particularly interested in people who have experience in surgical care in its broadest sense.
This post is available on our teaching and scholarship career track. The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to teaching and learning across the School’s portfolio, including at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Support will be provided to lead innovation in teaching and learning, including in clinical practice, and encouragement to develop scholarship potential.
The School of Health Sciences mission is to mobilise its expertise and experience to generate new solutions to health challenges. We do this by leading health care research, scholarship, teaching and learning that is of the highest possible standard, quality and value to service users, practitioners and stakeholders. We aim to be an international example of best practice in partnership-working with students, professionals, health and social care services, and policy makers. We pay attention to demonstrating the links between our research and teaching activities, and in providing our students with excellent learning experiences that equip them with the ability to succeed in their professional careers. We have a thriving research environment, and achieved an excellent outcome in the REF, placed in the top 20 of 94 Universities entered in Unit of Assessment 3. Bangor University was the only University in Wales to be awarded a GOLD standard in the 2017 Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF)
The post is available immediately and the successful candidate will be expected to commence as soon as possible.
Applications will only be accepted via our on-line recruitment website, jobs.bangor.ac.uk. However, in cases of access issues due to disability, paper application forms are available by telephoning 01248 383865.
