Salary: £28,936 per annum to £32,548 per annum (pro-rata if part time) together with USS pension benefits.
Main Purpose of the Post
Information Services and Systems (ISS) provide library, ICT, management information, media and careers services to staff and students across the University. It also provides services to other academic institutions, project partners and the general public.
As an Applications Analyst working within the Applications Team you will be responsible for event monitoring, incident resolution and providing third line support for a large portfolio of critical University IT services. The role will also require you to design and implement innovative technical solutions to deliver improvements in the IT services that the team provides which will ultimately provide a better quality service to our staff and students. The post holder will be expected to work with staff and students from all areas of the University to discuss service requirements and plan future improvements. This is a critical aspect of the role so an affinity for developing productive working relationships with a broad range of users will be essential.
You will maintain comprehensive documentation, both technical and non-technical, ensuring that services are documented in a consistent and usable manner for technical colleagues and end-users.
The role will require working outside of normal University business hours for application upgrades or emergency support.
