Dubai RTA to set up libraries at Hatta schools:
Dubai, UAE: Libraries will be set up at four schools in Hatta as part of a plan to develop education in the area.
The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority said on Monday that four primary schools had been chosen for the project: Rashid bin Saeed, Al Thahra, Hatta and Al Jahiz schools.
The project is aimed at developing the education sector in Hatta, support cultural life there and help it become a tourist destination, said Moaza Al Marri, director of marketing and corporate communication at the RTA corporate administrative support services sector.
Helping pupils to cultivate reading habits and teaching them about environment and sustainability will help create a generation aware of the country’s needs and prepared to contribute to society, she said.
“We communicated with the schools to determine the kinds of books that each age category needs and we agreed with a number of libraries to provide these books,” she said.
“We also coordinated with a design company to make innovative and attractive touches in order to encourage and motivate students to hold books and read.”
Schools were also provided with games to nurture innovation, creativity and thinking, and to improve their reading schools, said Ms Al Marri.
