The Reid School of Music is looking for a candidate (one role) to undertake tutoring on the following two courses:
Musical Applications of Fourier Theory (MUSI10055)
The Reid School of Music is looking for applications from individuals experienced in digital signal processing, with a background in Electrical Engineering, Physics or Mathematics, to deliver tutorials for a course on Fourier theory and digital signal processing (Semester 1). Matlab programming experience is essential. Approx. 52 hours.
Physics-Based Modelling of Musical Instruments (MUSI10076)
The Reid School of Music is looking for applications from individuals with a strong background in Matlab programming (essential), and physics or engineering (essential) to fill a tutor position on the course “Physics-Based Modelling of Musical Instruments (PBMMI)” (Semester 2). This course combines UG (Hons)/MSc into a single delivery format (with separate assessments). The position involves running weekly 2 hour Matlab tutorials to support the lectures and assignments. Subjects covered include digital filters, classic digital audio effects, and time domain modelling (FDTD). The role involves delivering and supporting content involving mathematics at a level equivalent to Senior Honours and MSc level. The role involves a small quantity of marking (the majority is completed by the Course Organiser). Matlab programming experience is essential. Approx. 44 hours.
This is an open ended, guaranteed hours position.
Salary: £15.25 – £17.66 per hour, plus 16% holiday allowance.
