A postdoctoral position is available from the 11th July until the end of September 2018 for a highly motivated scientist to carry out a research project funded by the BBSRC in the laboratory of Professor Andrew H Baker aiming to understand the interactions between the immune system and adenovirus. Using in vitro and in vivo studies, the research will focus on interactions with blood, coagulation factors and target organs of the virus, including liver and spleen. Techniques will include virology, molecular biology, cell culture and in vivo techniques.
Applicants must have a PhD and appropriate experience indicated by publications in international peer reviewed journals. You must possess excellent organisational skills and be capable if individual initiative and of interacting as part of a team. Laboratory skills required include experience in virology, particularly interactions of virus with the host.
