Applications are invited for a Lectureship in Criminology at the University of Edinburgh School of Law to join a collegiate and committed group of criminological scholars and students in a world-leading institution. The successful candidate will have excellent teaching and research abilities in the field of global criminology, and we would particularly welcome applications from candidates with expertise in one or more related areas, including: transnational crime/ justice; security and surveillance; border criminology; organised crime; environmental crimes and harms; comparative criminology; Southern and postcolonial criminologies.

The post-holder will conduct high-quality research and knowledge exchange activities in the field of Criminology, in particular in global criminology; make a substantial contribution to excellent research-led teaching and learning at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including developing new courses in global criminology; and undertake management and administrative duties as directed by the Head of School and/or Head of Subject. The successful applicant will have a record of achievement in and well-developed future plans for their research. They will have a PhD in Criminology or a related social science discipline, or be very close to completion.

As a member of the Criminology subject area, the successful candidate will be an active member of Centre for Law and Society at Edinburgh and the Scottish Centre for Crime and Justice Research

An annual salary of £40,792 to £48,677
