The Post

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Faculty of Arts and Humanities professional services team on a fixed term basis until end of August 2020. The successful post-holder will primarily support the delivery of a holistic, outstanding, and distinctive student experience so that our students have a seamless and integrated high quality University experience.

The post-holder will lead our student experience administration so as to deliver operational excellence across all our activities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and develop within the role, building on their own skills. A keen interest in current policy issues relating to higher education is desirable, together with a curiosity about how organisations work and develop.

The post-holder will be expected to digest and organise complex information quickly and accurately to support the delivery of the student experience. You will be highly organised and will have a flexible approach with exceptional time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The post-holder will report to the Operational Manager and will work closely with the Faculty Manager and Heads of Divisions.

Description of Duties

Work in partnership with academic and administrative colleagues throughout the University to provide a professional, high quality, and customer-focused service in support of the University’s strategic objectives.

Responsibility for the management, co-ordination, and delivery of a range of services and activities to support a holistic student experience.

To provide guidance and support on all non-academic related matters and oversee the development and management of student lifecycle administration within the Faculty; implementation of teaching and examination timetables; preparation and onward transmission of new modules/programmes and amendments; oversee production of programme and module handbooks; upload of teaching materials to VLE.

To support the effective operation of Module and Award Boards, including adherence to academic regulations and procedures, working in close collaboration with the Faculty Chief Examiner.
