School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition
You will join the Institute of Education for Medical and Dental Sciences as one of a team of administrative and clerical staff who support the medicine degree programme. You will be located in the School of Medicine, Medical Sciences and Nutrition on the Foresterhill site.
Your main remit is to assist with financial administrative functions related to the medicine degree programme and ACT funding, in particular financial reporting and processing student travel expenses claims. (ACT, Additional Cost of Teaching, is an NHS funding resource for undergraduate medical teaching.) You will liaise with both University and NHS staff as well as with medical students.
You should be educated to HNC or equivalent in English and Mathematics, have general knowledge of finance systems and a sound working knowledge of standard IT packages such as Microsoft Excel and Word. Knowledge of the University finance system and the University/NHS financial environment would be beneficial, although training will be provided. You must be able to work without direct supervision. Attention to detail and good communication skills are essential.
This is a part-time job (50% full-time equivalent). The working hours/days are flexible and can be negotiated with the line manager.
Salary will be at the appropriate point on the Grade 3 salary scale (50% of £18,777 – £21,585 per annum, pro-rata), with placement according to qualifications and experience.
