Free open Job in North, South & Central America Visiting Faculty Fellow in Interior Architecture

The Interior Architecture Department, as part of the School of Architecture and Environment University of Oregon, invites applications for visiting faculty positions at the rank of assistant, associate, full, or professor of practice. The Department will award approximately two faculty teaching positions in design research/teaching each lasting from one term to a full academic year for the coming 20-21 academic year.

We seek innovative designer/scholars who bring depth of experience in design and an ability to translate theory and practice in the studio environment. We especially encourage candidates who are engaged in research and practice that aligns with our two endowed Visiting professorships, the Julie Neupert Stott Professorship and the Margo Grant Walsh Professorship. These seek to bring design leadership through recognized excellence in design practice or scholarship and/or global engagement. Scholars with particular experience or interest in questions of equity and access are also encouraged to apply to the School of Architecture and Environments Spatial Justice Fellowship Pool.

Candidates should be proficient at nurturing creative design explorations that integrate insights from the questions and issues now informing design practice and/or research, and at developing these skills in students in both studio and non-studio settings. Our curriculum spans scales from large adaptive reuse projects to furniture design. Our vertically integrated studios and quarter system allow faculty to develop and teach a range of targeted projects and specific exercises related to their own expertise. We are particularly interested in candidates who will teach innovative design studios, subject area classes and seminar courses in the following areas: advanced media and design processes, materials and methods, human centered design, and theoretical application.
