Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate should possess a PhD in Computer Science. 

Candidates must also have:

  • A broad-based background in Computer Science and considerable teaching experience at the university level (undergraduate and postgraduate)
  • An excellent record of research and publication in one or more of the following specialization areas:
    • Software Engineering
    • Data Structures
    • Theory of Computing
    • Programming
    • Designs of Algorithms
    • Operating Systems
    • Database Management
    • Computer Architecture 

Consideration may also be given to candidates with a PhD in a related Computer Science discipline. 

An MSc. in Computer Science will be an asset.

Special Responsibilities 

  • Teaching undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Information Technology programmes
  • Teaching postgraduate courses in Computer Science
  • Supervising postgraduate students
  • Developing a high quality research programme
  • Attracting funding for research programmes
  • Assisting in curriculum development and participating in outreach activities.
  • Sitting on various committees at both Departmental and University Level
