Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate should possess an MA or MSc/MS in Speech-Language Pathology or a closely related discipline.

Candidates must also have:

  • Licensure (in country of origin) and eligibility for licensure in Trinidad and Tobago
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience as an SLP
  • Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience with Clinical Supervision
  • Familiarity with the particular communication challenges of the populations of the English-official Caribbean
  • Specialisation in child language disorders

Candidates with the following would have an advantage:

  • Experience lecturing in SLP
  • At least one other concentration in SLP

Candidates with a PhD in Communication Disorders or a closely related field may be considered for appointment at the Lecturer level.

Special Responsibilities

  • Teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Engaging scholarly activities including research and publications
  • Serving on Committees at the Department, Faculty and University levels
  • Providing academic advisement of majors
  • Participating in the design and development of courses, teaching materials and or programmes in SLP
  • Supervising undergraduate research projects as well as postgraduate research work
  • Clinical supervision
  • Programme administration
  • Academic advising
