Qualifications and Experience 

The successful candidate must possess a PhD and MA/MSW/MSc in Social Work. 

Candidates should also possess:

  • Considerable teaching experience at the tertiary level
  • Evidence of having studied Social Policy
  • Demonstrable experience in social work education, practice and management at an international level
  • A track record of research and publication
  • Working experience in policy formulation and/or analysis
  • Interest in and demonstration of experience in social work education and/or practice at an international level
  • Experience in advance teaching methods

Special Responsibilities 

  • Teaching within the undergraduate and graduate Social Work programmes in the following areas: Social Policy Analysis; Monitoring and Evaluation; History and Theory of Social Policy; Organization and Management of Social Policy; Social Development Policy; Social Development Planning
  • Assisting in supervision of graduate projects and theses in Social Work and mediation
  • Field supervision of undergraduate and graduate students
  • Other duties, as assigned

  • Be able to work in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Be willing to develop a research agenda
  • Have demonstrable mediation skills
  • Have an interest in the development of Social Work Policy in the Caribbean
