The medical schools of R3 Education; Saba University School of Medicine (SUSOM), Medical University of the Americas (MUA), and St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine (SMUSOM) are three of the world’s leading international medical schools, with nearly a 30-year history of educating outstanding physicians. In 2019, R3 Education joined Global University Systems (GUS). GUS is focused on becoming one of the world’s most dynamic, inclusive, and diverse education organisations. This includes a portfolio of 30 institutions around the world including universities in the United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, India and the Caribbean.
All three medicals schools are expanding their faculty with full-time teaching positions in several basic science disciplines. In addition, our medical schools are also looking for several dedicated clinicians to teach foundational clinical skills.
At SUSOM and MUA, our faculty teach using a progression beginning with foundational concepts in the basic and clinical sciences, leading to organ systems focused courses that integrate each foundational discipline to both normal human function and disease. At SMU, the instruction is discipline-based, integrated with clinical skills and integrated with the Cayman Island’s world class healthcare system.
Each comprehensive curricula applies the basic sciences of medicine to clinical scenarios and applications throughout. Along the way, clinicians teach clinical skills necessary for success in the Clinical Medicine portion of the curriculum which is in the second five semesters and located in our partner hospitals in the US.
The average first-time pass rate on the USMLE Step 1 was 95-99% at each school, and our students earn top residencies at medical centres across the US and Canada. All three schools have comprehensive basic science curricula with integrated clinical skills instruction.

All University faculty have an advanced medical and/or doctoral degree (MD, MBBS, PhD) with postgraduate training in a medical or academic specialty, as well as demonstrated experience in teaching and/or research. All faculty are full-time and devoted exclusively to the teaching mission.
