We seek to appoint a Senior Lecturer or Lecturer to join our BA (Hons) Graphic Design & Illustration teaching team. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced individuals to support the development of a high calibre, UK validated, internationally facing BA (Hons) programme, within the context of a vibrant school of creative arts in the most exciting hub for business, culture and innovation of Brazil today: São Paulo. 

Escola Britânica de Artes Criativas works in close partnership with the School of the Creative Arts of the University of Hertfordshire (UK). It is the only educational institution in Latin America offering validated British undergraduate degrees.

The BA (Hons) Graphic Design & Illustration course was established in February 2018. Currently there are 42 students studying on Level 4 and Level 5 and it is expected 20 new Level 4 students to be enrolled in August 2019. Students enrolling onto the British undergraduate programmes are taught in English and typically undertake our one-year Foundation Diploma in Art & Design before progressing further. A team of experienced lecturers and subject specialists consisting of international and local staff contribute to the learning experience of students and help to create culturally rich and vibrant courses.

The post holder will teach in the Graphic Design or Illustration awards within the School and will be expected to take an active role in fulfilling the strategic objectives of the School; uphold the professional ethos of both EBAC and UH and share in the corporate responsibility for the academic development of students within the School; establish and maintain constructive working relationships with colleagues and to cooperate with them on the progress and continuous improvement of the School.

Please note that for the post the post holders will only be involved with the British undergraduate programmes delivered in English. You don’t have to speak Portuguese. If successful you will be expected to be settled in São Paulo in the middle of January 2020 and suggest that you arrive to find accommodation and subsequently be ready to start work at EBAC in a negotiable date to accommodate your personal circumstances. A later starting date can be discussed.

Salary rate: £33.000-£43.000 GBP. Monthly salary will be paid in the Brazilian Real equivalent of the agreed GBP monthly salary rate. Brazilian income tax is currently set at a flat rate of 27,5%.
