The Corporate Governance (CG) research cluster focuses on the study of systems, processes, structures, and frameworks used to control and direct any corporation (for-profit and non-profit), and draws together perspectives from finance, strategy and business ethics. Faculty in this research cluster study the legal, regulatory, and ethical environment that set the stage for governance. DAN is a highly collegiate and supportive working environment. Potential applicants should have a PhD in economics, finance, management or cognate fields, and their research interests must be clearly linked to the CG research cluster.
Candidates considered for a Probationary (tenure-track) appointment must have a superior academic record and a demonstrated record of publication of scholarly research in leading refereed journals, and evidence of excellent teaching ability. In addition, they should have the ability and willingness to contribute to the intellectual and scholarly life of the Faculty community and to the University more generally. Candidates considered for an appointment with Tenure must have an outstanding academic record with a strong record of academic publications and significant teaching experience. The successful candidates will be expected to maintain a strong research program, compete successfully for research funding, teach undergraduate courses in Finance and cognate fields, and contribute to ongoing curriculum and program development.
Rank and salary for all positions will be commensurate with previous performance, qualifications and experience in accordance with the Faculty Collective Agreement. The appointment is available to begin July 1, 2020, although an alternate start date may be arranged.
Dating back to 1878, the University of Western Ontario is one of the most distinguished and most highly-ranked research intensive universities in Canada. It is located in London, Ontario, a highly affordable and family friendly city of approximately 350,000. London is situated approximately half-way between Toronto and Detroit with excellent access to these centers by car, train, or air. It is also within a 45 minute drive to the beaches of Lake Erie and Lake Huron and is a centre for winter sports.
