The School of Public Health, headed by Professor Elio Riboli MD MPH ScM, comprises the Departments of Epidemiology and Biostatistics, Infectious Disease Epidemiology, Primary Care and Public Health and Genomics of Common Diseases, as well as the Imperial Clinical Trials Unit and the Neuroepidemiology of Ageing Unit. The School was rated top in the Public Health, Health Services and Primary Care submission to the UK’s 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF).
This is an exciting opportunity for those interested in pursuing a career in postgraduate public health education. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation and continuing development of the Global Health stream of a successful Master of Public Health (MPH) programme. This is one of two Teaching Fellow positions in the School of Public Health supporting the popular MPH.
The post will include teaching, research supervision, enhancing the student experience and organisational responsibilities for global health teaching on the MPH, as appropriate to the level of appointment.
Applicants should hold a Masters-level degree in public health or global health or equivalent experience as well as provide evidence of high levels of achievement in career to date. Experience in teaching and the ability to communicate effectively are essential.
This is a Maternity Cover post at 0.4 FTE, two days (14 hours) a week for a fixed term until 19 August 2018. The appointee will be based at the St. Mary’s Campus in Paddington and the Charing Cross campus in Hammersmith, and will be expected to participate generally in the School’s activities and may take on other duties in agreement with the School’s Head of Postgraduate Teaching. Some travel to other College campuses will be required for teaching purposes.
